England’s Golf Coast & London

A selection of the courses on England’s Golf Coast

Scotland might be the birthplace of golf but England’s Golf Coast is the beating heart of championship golf south of the border. Nowhere else on earth can lay claim to so many Open Championship venues and fabulous World’s, UK’s and England’s Top 100 courses within such a concentrated area.

The picturesque coastal resort of Southport, the undisputed home of the Golf Coast, has three of the country’s best courses on its doorstep. With the charismatic Open Championship venue of Royal Birkdale, Southport & Ainsdale, and Hillside nestled side by side along a majestic stretch of dune-laden coastline, this is the ultimate links experience.

Neighbouring Formby is home to the world-class pairing of Formby Golf Club and Formby Ladies. To the south is the wonderful West Lancashire Golf Club and just a short drive beyond is the stunning Wirral peninsula, with the Open Championship venue of Royal Liverpool (host of the 2023 Open) and Wallasey.

North of Southport you will find yet another Open Championship course in Royal Lytham & St Annes, as well as the charming St Annes Old Links. With Liverpool, Manchester and Chester nearby, there is plenty of fine dining, luxury retreats and five-star experiences for golfers and non-golfers alike to enjoy in this glorious region of the UK.
